The data should not be removed, it will be converted for use by the Prairie Server. 1. Insert the QuickConference or InOutTracker CD and double-click the server installer icon. 2. Click the Continue... button in the Prairie Server introduction screen. 3. Read the Read Me and click Continue. 4. Select a destination on your hard drive for the Prairie Server files and click the Install button. A progress bar appears. 5. Click Quit when the installer informs you that installation was successful. When installation is complete, launch the Prairie Server application from the location you specified in Step 4 above. - - - - - - What's Installed Prairie Server folder: Prairie Server, Prairie Server LogViewer, Prairie Server Read Me System Folder: Extensions: Text Encoding Converter (if not installed already) System Folder: Text Encodings (if not installed already) System Folder: Startup Items: Prairie Server (Alias to program) ---------- Backing Up Data and Preferences The Prairie Server data files are now all stored in a folder called "Prairie Server Prefs", which is stored in your Preferences folder located in your System Folder. ----------- InOutTracker Notes If you are running InOutTracker, the server can keep a log of all activity. You should save or print the log and clear it regularly. It is possible for the log to get too large to view. You can view the log either from the server or from any user's system that has been given permission to view the log. Some users can be notified automatically of all activity. Since this will interrupt the user regularly, it should only be used by someone whose primary responsibility is keeping track of people. ========================================= © 1998, 2000, 2001 CE Software, Inc.
