Two Help files, a copy of this Read Me, and uninstall files will also be installed in this directory. 5. Choose whether or not to also install InOutTracker. If you choose to install it, the InOutTracker installer will be run automatically. 6. Install the Prairie Client Listener. The Listener installer will be run automatically when the QuickConference and/or InOutTracker installers have completed. By default, the Listener is installed in the C:\Program Files\Prairie Group\PSClient\ directory. 7. Choose whether or not to launch the program. 8. Remove the QuickConference disk or CD from your computer and click Finish. When installation is complete, you can launch the QuickConference application from the Program menu under Prairie Clients. ---------- Yellow Transcript Entries * New entries in the transcript are marked in yellow, to make them clearly visible. ¾They return to normal color when you send a message, close the QuickConference window, or manually click on the "Refresh" button. ---------- Backing up the client * The Prairie Client data files, including address books and other personal setup information, are now all stored in a folder called "Pclient", which is stored in a folder called "Prairie Group". This folder is stored in the folder "C:\Windows\Application Data" under Windows 98, but may be stored elsewhere under other operating systems. Search for "Pclient" to find it on your computer. ---------- Instant Replies * To send or reply by selecting text from a customizable pop-up menu, click and hold the Instant Reply pop-up menu which can be found by locating the triangle in the Type Message Here box * Instant Replies can be edited by selecting Options and then the Instant Reply Tab, up to seven Instant Replies can be set or edited. The Instant Reply tab also provides a check box for sending your replies after selection or by requiring a command from the user once selected. ---------- Single Use Do Not Disturb * A user who needs to create a Do Not Disturb that does not qualify for saving for regular use in the Do Not Disturb tab in Options, can select Other from the DoNotDisturb menu in the client and create a custom message that will only be used until turned off. ---------- InOutTracker Integration * The server software (Prairie Server) for a QuickConference 1.6 was designed to also run and service CE Software's people tracker client, InOutTracker. The QuickConference client has a new preference in the Do Not Disturb tab in Options that allows the user to affect their InOutTracker client status. For more information on InOutTracker visit www.startly.com or call 800-523-7638. ---------- New Easy Login * The new login allows for a user to more easily create their account. Select New User from the pop-up menu, click OK, enter the server address, and then the user will be presented with a list of users from which to make a selection. To create another user, again select New User and click OK, QuickConference will remember the server used and immediately present the list of users. ---------- Bringing the Client Window Forward Because of limitations in Windows 98 SE, and in Windows 2000, the open window for the QuickConference client does not always come to the front when receiving an incoming message, or when the designated hot key is pressed. In these cases, the application's button on the taskbar will blink. If the client window is closed, however, it should reliably open forward of other windows. The F12 key will not work as the QuickConference hot key, bringing the client window forward, in Windows 2000. ========================================= ©1998, 2000, 2001 CE Software, Inc.
